Caso clínico: persona adulta mayor con sarcopenia, osteoporosis, diabetes, hipertensión y aislamiento social
Abstract
Introducción. El envejecimiento puede venir acompañado de profundos cambios como la soledad, el aislamiento, la depresión y la falta de ingresos, que también pueden tener efectos en la dieta y junto con las comorbilidades pueden favorecer el desarrollo de síndromes geriátricos aumentando así la morbilidad y mortalidad. Este estudio de caso destaca la presencia de sarcopenia, osteoporosis, diabetes tipo 2 e hipertensión arterial sistémica. Presentación de caso. Femenino de 84 años con antecedentes familiares de diabetes, viuda, bajo nivel socioeconómico, escolaridad nula. Presenta complicaciones de la diabetes, polifarmacia y depresión; tiene peso normal, obesidad central, masa grasa y masa muscular normales, presenta sarcopenia y fragilidad. Su alimentación no cumple con las características de
a dieta correcta, destacando ingesta insuficiente de proteína y energía. Intervención. El objetivo fue favorecer la ingesta y distribución de energía y proteína para mejorar la composición corporal a partir materiales diseñados para personas con baja escolaridad y una atención multidisciplinaria. Discusión y conclusión. La intervención aún no ha mostrado mejoras en la composición corporal, ya que en un inicio no se contó con el apoyo de la red social, a corto plazo se espera una mejora en la ingesta de energía y proteína. A largo plazo, se espera un mejor desempeño físico y calidad de vida.
