Aquí los árboles reinaban: el desantropocentrismo basado en las funciones actanciales del bosque en El fuego verde de Verónica Murguía

Abstract

En el presente artículo demostraremos que el bosque Brocelandia y el reino de Fata Titania ocupan funciones actanciales dentro del esquema propuesto por A. J. Greimas, los cuales a su vez representan una visión desantropocéntrica en la novela, entendida como la oposición al antropocentrismo de acuerdo con las definiciones de Glenn Love y Germán Bula. En primer lugar, reconoceremos algunos trabajos anteriores de otros autores sobre Verónica Murguía y su obra. En un segundo lugar, revisaremos los conceptos que se utilizarán a lo largo del análisis de El fuego verde (1999). En tercer lugar, ahondaremos en el bosque de Brocelandia, cuyos roles actanciales se manifiestan en la forma en que interactúa indirectamente con Luned. Finalmente, analizaremos cómo las funciones actanciales se representan a través de acciones directas del bosque en el reino de Fata Titania, que revelan una agencia de sus elementos naturales.

In this article we will demonstrate that the forest of Brocelandia and the kingdom of Fata Titania occupy actant functions according to the model proposed by AJ Greimas, which in turn represents a deanthropocentric vision in the novel, understood as the opposition to anthropocentrism according to the definitions of Glenn Love and Germán Bula. First, we will recognize previous criticism on Verónica Murguía and her work. Second, we will review the concepts that will be used throughout our analysis of El fuego verde (1999). Third, we will delve into the forest of Brocelandia, whose actant roles are manifested in the way it interacts indirectly with Luned. Finally, we will analyze how actant functions are represented through the direct actions of the forest in the kingdom of Fata Titania, which reveal the agency of its natural elements.
