How could I relate the-thing, with you, who enjoy it, and our identity, if not by the analog nature of design? Heidegger points out that the-thing is not an object. You, the-one-who-enjoys-it, relishes it with me, that am its designer. But, who are we, you and me? This question is about our identity. We live today an assault on reality, on identity: is it univocal or equivocal? However, we understand each other in the analogy, which allows you and me to recognize our differences, but also discover the similarities. Thus, I can discover for you the value of the identity that asks-to-be-seen-in the analogous thing. The matter, blissful, is more complex. Design brings together a fivefold analogy of identities: mine, designer, yours, the-one-who-enjoys-it, that of the place and time where our interaction occurs, visible at last in the-thing analogous.
