El cuerpo-vestido como Dios : los atavíos del Ixiptla de Huitzilopochtli
Abstract
La presente investigación busca responder cómo funciona el vestir en las prácticas rituales para facilitar la personificación de los ixiptla de Huitzilopochtli y, de qué manera se inscriben los imaginarios presentes en la liturgia ritual mexica en los atavíos de estos personificadores. Dichos cuestionamientos se abordarán desde el análisis del cuerpo-vestido visto en los textos recabados por los cronistas, códices coloniales y esculturas. Estas fuentes proveen información relacionada con tres casos vinculados al dios tutelar mexica Huitzilopochtli como el adorno llamado huitzinahualli utilizado por Tizoc en el temalácatl-cuauhxicalli o Piedra de Tizoc; el rito de los tlaaltilli o bañados durante la veintena de Panquetzaliztli y la efigie del dios hecha de masa de amaranto o tzoalli para la fiesta de Tóxcatl. Estos ejemplos servirán como objeto de estudio para profundizar en las tensiones que subyacen en la configuración del fenómeno del ixiptla en su cuerpo, la vestimenta y la liturgia.
